The IRS is a Foot Soldier

Imagine it is a lovely Thursday afternoon in May. You have just sat down to enjoy an afternoon snack, and all of a sudden, you hear a knock on your front door. You think, "Who can that be?" It might be a Girl Scout, a salesman, or even murder. Even your worst-case scenario couldn't prepare you for who is behind the door. That person is an agent of the Internal Revenue Service.

The IRS is an organization that no one person wants to face on their own. Similarly to how people never want to be alone when meeting with gang members. Within the United States government, we find corruption, which, in the eyes of author Peter Lupsha, makes politicians no better than gang members. With that idea in mind, the government is the equivalent of a gang, therefore, making the IRS a branch of its operation.

The IRS is similar to a gang's foot soldiers. When you see them coming, you get out of the way or pay the price. They enforce all financial laws and make sure everyone pays them what is due. And no matter how clever a person thinks they are in due time the IRS finds them and gets what they are owed.

This is exactly what happened to Dutch Schultz and Al Capone. The government wanted nothing more than to put these men behind bars. Due to lots of planning on the gang leaders' parts, there was no criminal activity that could be tied to them, just rumors. However, it was the IRS that was able to come up with the charges of tax evasion that put Schultz and Capone in the center light. Eventually leading in the case of Al Capone to his court verdict of guilty.

The Internal Revenue Service is one of the scariest organizations the United States Government ever created. They are cunning and shrouded in the shadows of the government. But, at the end of the day, they get the money that is owed to the Government in the same way a foot soldier of a gang would.
